The Royal Mint 2022 Memorial Sovereign is released as a celebration of the life of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. While it was released in early 2023 the coin is dated 2022.

The Memorial Sovereign features a portrait of King Charles III on the obverse Martin Jennings. This is the first time His Majesty has appeared on the Sovereign series, making the coin a very special release in the series.
